Emily Chapman is a local painter with ancestral connections to the East of England. Born in 1973, Emily studied Fine Art at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.
An artist with a sense of fun and freedom, Emily’s paintings reflect the colour and energy of Fauvism, and the flow and dynamics of works by Van Gogh, Kandinski and Munch.
Emily paints places and how people relate to them; buildings with history and the way settings have developed around human activity. Every piece aims to capture good times in those places Emily loves, experienced by artist and viewer alike with a feeling of joy and exuberance.
