Vladimir Piven

Vladimir Piven is a prolific painter who divides his time between the Ukraine and the US. His work is highly collectible and he has exhibited across Europe, in Russia and in the US.

Born in 1976 in Komsomolsk, Ukraine, Vladimir started drawing and painting in a studio environment at the age of 6. He went on to study painting at the Kherkiv State Academy of Art and Design, renowned for preserving the historical traditions of Ukrainian realistic painting. The academy is also strongly influenced by the classical teachings of St Petersburg Academy of Arts.

Having grown up in a post-war mining town, Vladimir’s love of painting led him to travel extensively and develop his subject matter beyond the European landscape and figurative traditions.

Moving to Miami in 2015, alongside landscapes we also begin to see more ‘glamourous’ subjects in his works – including flamingos, racehorses and sailing yachts. Riverside Art & Glass represents Vladimir exclusively in the UK and brings a curated collection of smaller works together of this year’s Autumn Showcase.
