Papier-mâché clay vases came about organically through Jacqueline's slight obsession with shapes, form and her love for sculptures and vases. As much as she wanted to work with ceramics and clay, Jacqueline was always conscious of waste and the environment which is where she started to experiment with the traditional method of 'Papier-mâché by recycling discarded paper and card and transforming it into a clay that could bring her creative ideas to life.

Each vase is slowly hand sculpted therefore the traces of her fingertips and hands on the surface make each piece tactile, unique and one of a kind. Jacqueline creates different shapes often inspired by nature from living close to the coast or the idea of found relics you would want to keep. Some pieces are left in their natural pulp finish or hand paint using high quality water based matt paints that have a low carbon footprint.

To appreciate the charm of this paper material and the bold Matt colours, the vases are left unvarnished and are not water tight. Jacqueline's creations are very much decorative objects to be kept and treasured.
