My 'Design and Paint a Letter' workshop is three hours minimum inc. a short break

Design and paint your own stunning letter. A step-by-step class for beginners inspired by traditional methods of sign-writing; specifically the dazzling folk art of fairground and circus sign-writing. 

Participants are guided through: 

• Drawing out a simple letter 

• Adding their own flourishes 

• Choosing a colour pallet to complete their acrylic painted letter on paper

Dot Howard is a Norwich-based artist with a background in Fine Art and Performance. She has 25 years of experience in participatory arts and community arts facilitation, as well as making public artworks across the UK and beyond.

Dot has a ‘Level 3 Award in Education and Training’ (2016) and is an Associate Artist at the Sainsbury Centre of Visual Arts in Norwich. She co-runs Eyebrow Arts: creative projects in 

Norfolk for people living with dementia and learning disabilities. She is also works for Suffolk Artlink’s ‘Clown Round’, bringing joy and gentle creative play through clowning for children and families in hospitals and hospices.

Other Info: 

Using Acrylic so bring an apron/equivalent and/or short sleeves.

If artworks are wet at the end of the workshop, you can collect from [Mana Art] post-workshop.

Every participant needs to provide the letter that they'd like to design at the point of booking (and no later than 5 days prior to the workshop), in order for me to prep.
