2pm - 06/06/26 Kay Spalding will be hosting her first workshop with us here, where she will guide you through skills and techniques that she uses everyday to create her eye-catching, colourful and inspiring art.
Abstract Flower Painting with Kay
Brief lesson in colour theory RGB (10min)
° Understanding of the colour wheel
° Colour opposites
° Complimentary colours
° Composition
Experimentation (20min)
° Choose three colours and white
° Experiment mixing with each other to create a limited colour pallet
° Play with balance, depth and mark making
We will be using 2 sheets of paper to explore and play with a quality heavy duty paper to plan for the final painting.
Final Piece (2 1/2 hours)
° 60 mins - make an abstract base using collage, acrylic paint and inks to create bold and beautiful shapes. (templates and guidance will be available)
° 30 mins - use shape and free expression to mark out leaf and flower shapes, bottles, vase and plate based on the earlier experiments using Posca Pen marker
° 60 mins - block out negative areas and background with white acrylic paint or other light shade to create form and detail to allow the under shapes and flowers to stand out. You can add further details to create flowers, petals and foliage.
All materials, paint, paper, and canvasses will be provided as well as props including. bottles, plates and flowers.

Ticket refund and cancellation policy
Tickets are strictly non-refundable. No exceptions. All ticket sales are final.
Tickets may be transferred given more than 96 hours notice (4 days), a fee is payable. Ticket transfers are charged at £5 per ticket. Tickets can only be transferred once. We cannot transfer tickets with less than 4 days (96 hours) notice.
You may sell or gift your ticket to someone else if you cannot make the event. Please contact us with the details of the new attendee, otherwise they may be refused entry.
If you arrive late to an event you may forfeit your ticket. Customers must arrive on time to join the event.
Should an event need to be postponed or rescheduled due to events beyond our control, we will offer attendees a number of options, including alternative dates at the same venue. A new venue may be found within a reasonable distance from the original venue.
On the rare occasion Maná Art cancels an event, all customers will be offered a full refund or ticket transfer option.
