One of Dee's earlier works and really different from her usual use of colours, her choice of season and the close up focus on the subjects. The use of bold blues against the contrasting yellow, is not something we see often from Dee (normally opting for an autumnal, rustic style), however her timeless capturing of people going about their daily lives, is something that she continues to capture to this day, in her work.
About Dee Nickerson
Acclaimed painter, Dee Nickerson captures the humble qualities of county living in her figurative artwork. Dee grew up in rural Norfolk and developed an interest in art and making things from an early age. Working in acrylic, her work is influenced by the countryside where she lives and her interactions with it. When speaking of her work, she said, "Some of my characters are based on an imaginary self. It’s not necessarily me exactly, but it might represent how I might like to feel at that moment. I reach out to other people by painting moments we all share."
